from ruby skye in san francisco to le poisson rouge in nyc - baby loves disco was born in the clubs and will return to some of the countries hottest spots, lending evidence to our long standing theory that sunday afternoons are the new saturday night. this is the traditional bld dance party where we transform local nightclubs into child proof discos as toddlers, pre-schoolers and parents looking for a break from the routine playground circuit let loose for some post nap time, pre-dinner fun. make no mistake, this is not the mickey mouse club, and barney is banned. baby loves disco is an afternoon dance party featuring real music spun and mixed by real djs blending classic disco tunes from the 70s & 80s guaranteed to get those little booties moving and grooving.

the lemonade tour steps out of the clubs and into the malls as part of a custom made event that takes advantage of the space, the place and the vibe of some of america’s most celebrated shopping destinations. through a unique partnership with general growth properties and h&m, bld will present these special “mall discos” entirely free to the public. in addition all money earned through fountain change at the malls during the event month go to alex’s lemonade stand. wrisTBAnds to the event, held in a roped off open space which is transformed into a mobile nightclub, are available for free at relevant mall’s h&m location and are limited to four per family. the first bld mall disco was held in march of 2010 at the woodbridge center (woodbridge nj) and drew over 1500 fans.

in between the malls and the clubs we’ll take a scaled down baby loves disco side-show to hospitals, schools, and parks. thanx in part to our sponsor h&m we are able to keep the show on the road and bring the disco to people who need it the most. children’s hospitals in philly, cleveland, st.louis in other cities will participate in a hospital disco, community centers in northern california, salt lake city & tampa bay will hold outdoor discos while setting up lemonade stands for alex and helping spared awareness. other community based events and details will be announced in july as details are finalized.

alex’s lemonade stand foundation shares the vision of their founder and creator, alexandra “alex” scott—a cure for all children with cancer. when alex, who was diagnosed with childhood cancer just before her first birthday, was four, she told her parents she wanted to set up a front-yard lemonade stand. her plan: to give the money to doctors to help them find a cure. her first “alex’s lemonade stand” raised an astonishing $2,000 in one day. as news spread of the remarkable girl so dedicated to helping other sick children, people everywhere were inspired to start their own lemonade stands—donating the proceeds to her cause. in 2004 when alex passed away at the age of eight—her stand and inspiration had raised over $1 million towards finding a cure for the disease that took her life. the foundation that her parents created to keep alex’s spirit and mission alive has today raised more than $30 million, with more than $12 million of those dollars coming from lemonade stands. you can learn much more about this amazing story at www.alexslemonade.org.
